There is tons of information about Femi Kuti online. He is quite the political figure and he built the Shrine, the location of the concert. Some people I went with have been waiting for three years to attend one of this concerts. I joined the Nigerian Field Society and went with them to the concert. That sounds simple enough, right? A group of us went in a bus and there were about ten cars in our caravan. We had armed vehicles both in the front and in the back of our line of cars…I’m still not sure who they were there for.
